It is 100 years since Scott became the first man to walk and ski unsupported and unassisted from the edge of the Ice Shelf to the South Pole. History tells us that the Norwegian, Roald Amundsen beat Scott and his valiant team to reach the South Pole, but with the aid of a team of sledge dogs. Scott's was the ultimate achievement and demonstration of man's ability to push the limits of endurance and discovery.

In this centenary year, Manley and a team of fit men will attempt to set a world record to be the fastest from the edge of the Antarctica continent to the South Pole, unsupported and unassisted.
