Manley Hopkinson has had a colourful career. A former inspector in the Royal Hong Kong Marine Police, he had his own boat building and servicing company in the Far East, twice served as an officer in the Royal Navy - rejoining for the 1st Gulf War, attained a degree in Marine Engineering then worked as a Marine Surveyor world-wide and as a contract project manager for some major corporations, including Granada Media, solving one of its major Year 2000 projects.

He is a professional yachtsman and was the skipper of Olympic Group, one of the twelve yachts competing in the incredible BT Global Challenge 2000-2001, "the World's toughest yacht race" organised by Sir Chay Blyth. Racing around the globe the "wrong way" into the prevailing winds and currents, the identical yachts were crewed by amateurs from all walks of life through the most inhospitable parts of the globe. It was a leadership and management challenge that pushed all the Skippers to the edge, and taught them much. Manley brings this incredible experience and knowledge to his inspiring talks and presentations.

Manley is now the preferred “inspiring public speaker” at the renowned Chewton Glen luxury hotel and Spa, one of the best in the world.

ATLAS CONSORTIUM
"Having worked for a number of months with the leadership of the Atlas Consortium helping them effect a major leadership and cultural change programme, Manley has accepted a position on the board as the Director of Organisation, People and Partners. With responsibility for Marketing & Communications, HR and Organisational Effectiveness, Manley is now fully accountable in bringing about the required leadership development for the largest infrastructure project outside the USA. Bringing his wide and varied leadership and consulting experience to bear, Manley is excited about the new role, "It is an incredible opportunity. I have been advising leaders of business worldwide on how to change their own organisations, but now I have my own. This is a project of huge national importance and high visibility. We need to get this right. The responsibility is huge, but the calibre of people I am working with at Atlas is truly inspiring and that brings with it very high expectations."

Manley is still very much available as a motivational and business speaker and can now not just inspire audiences with his ocean and polar racing stories but can engage business leaders as a business leader himself.
